Upgrade Process

The version 7 upgrade process required multiple steps...

  1. Customers interested in upgrading to Version 7 should visit http://www.laundrycard.com/v7update/v7signup.asp and register for the upgrade.
  2. Once registered a CCI representative will contact you to coordinate payment and schedule a 'Pre-Flight' session with a CCI technician. And to coordinate shipping the v7 software kit to you.
  3. Once payment has been secured a CCI technician will contact you on your scheduled 'Pre-Flight' appointment time. They will assess your current system and perform a series of 'Pre-Flight' upgrades and tests to ensure that your system is prepared to receive the Version 7 upgrade.
  4. Once the 'Pre-Flight' updates are complete the CCI Technician will schedule your v7 Upgrade with you, you or someone with X-Changer keys must be present during the upgrade. The upgrade will take between 1-3 hours, during that period there will be a 'down' time that could last as long as 30 minutes where Laundry customers will not be able to use the system. Please be prepared to use your Super Card to accommodate their business.
  5. V7 will be delivered on a USB key, this key will be shipped to you prior to the scheduled install date.  This key also contains a backup copy of your software which can be used to restore a computer in the event of a hard drive or computer failure, do not lose this key.

Updates and New Features

Updates
  • Added new 'Sync' code that will allow X-Changers to recover and synchronize missing records in the event of a network failure or down computer. New solution ensures that X-Changer transaction data is synchronized each night.
  • Adjust logic when dispensing a new card: Only dispense one card regardless of successful bar code scan. If barcode scan fails system will prompt user to insert card into local reader and will apply inserted value onto card. If customer walks away from system without inserting card, Attendant has new option to apply 'unclaimed' escrow balances to invalid cards. Manager can also apply balances remotely for unattended locations
  • Corrected issue where technician card would cause card reader failures in certain situations in a multi-vend store.
  • Updated logic so that when laser printer cannot be found during a collection, the system will prompt user about absent printer and offer continue without report or allow user to correct printer issue before continuing.
  • Fixed bug when asked for a password during startup after clicking 'Cancel', user is still prompted for password.
  • Fixed annoyance with screen locking during password dialog, when attempting to override startup screen.
  • Eliminated the 'start' button during start up countdown to allow computer to start dependencies first and eliminate occasional program startup failures.
  • Added logic to make 2nd initialize attempt on startup if communications fail on any specific X-Changer component, to reduce occasional startup failures after a reboot.
  • Fixed logic so errors properly appear if card readers report zero polling attempts. (Red Line)
  • Adjusted logic on initial startup to not generate WCRD_Errors.txt for first 1 minute (Red Line)
  • Added logic to dispensed from Manager screen so Non-Customer cards set 'date issued' properly
  • Added logic to not allow multiple instances of same program to run simultaneously.
  • Adjusted logic so that when performing failover the system will switch primary DB immediately after successful backup.

  • Fixed Purge cards not deleting from backup db properly.
  • Adjusted logic on CSV backup to run silent by default, parameter required to run manually.
